Sony TVs – Leading the Way in Technology for Years
Sony is known today as the foremost manufacturer of televisions and many other electronics. It may not be as well known that Sony TVs have been around for a very long time, having led the way the entire time that the company has been in existence. Sony was started in 1946 by two visionary men named Masaru Ibuka and Akio Morita. The two combined their expertise in the areas of new product development and brilliant marketing skills, forming the company that is the market leading company known as Sony. Today Sony is a sixty billion dollar global conglomerate.
Sony TVs were one of the earlier products of the company, but were not the very first. In 1950 the G-Type recorder was introduced, which was a tape player and recording device in one. One of the next big things on the Sony agenda was the introduction of Sony TVs that produced a clear and high quality color television signal.
It was October of 1967 when the cathode ray tube that powered the new Sony Trinitron was finally completed, and in 1968 the Trinitron was introduced to the world with great success. Over the next several decades, Sony continued to develop and refine its brand and its products. The televisions became more and more sophisticated, always leading the way. Sony was one of the first electronics manufacturers to introduce the high definition television sets, the plasma television sets, and the LCD flat panel television sets that have become the standard for ultimate home theater today.
Sony TVs are the ideal way to enjoy one of the company’s other famous inventions: The video gaming consoles known as PlayStations. The original PlayStation was introduced, to great acclaim, in the year 1995. The console dominated the gaming market, overpowering all competing consoles in short order. The reign of Sony video gaming console dominance continued with the introduction of the PlayStation 2 and later the PlayStation 3. Video gamers know the consoles as simply the “PS” “PS2″ and “PS3″ and consider the games produced by Sony some of the most beautiful graphically, as well as most enjoyable in gameplay that have ever been in the gaming market.
