Sony TVs – Why Buy Sony TVs
As you are aware, there are many brands of televisions on the market to choose from. But, only one comes to mind as the leader in television technology; and that is Sony. Sony TVs have been the leading brand of televisions for many decades.
Founded in 1946 by Akio Morita and Masaru Ibuka, these two men brought different design innovations, ideas, and marketing knowledge together to form a business that will eventually grow to be worth more than sixty billion dollars. The original name of the company was Tokyo Tsushin Kogyo but after a visit to the United States they changed the name to Sony to be more easily pronounced in this country. Sony got it’s name when they combined two words, “sonus” is the root of words like sound and sonic and now Sony, and the other word is “sonny” which means little son.
Coming up with a color television was a priority for Sony. In October 1967 Sony TVs completed their first cathode-ray tube to make a color television. These color televisions were named Trinitron. They came up with this name by combining tow words: trinity which means the union of three and tron from electron tubes. Since 1968 the Trinitron Sony TVs were the first ones on the market and set the standard for picture quality and design.
Sony TVs are not the only thing that Sony was the first to come out with. Some of their other products that were firsts include the magnetic tape and tape recorder, the transistor radio, and even the worlds first all transistor TV set in 1960. They also lay claim to the worlds first color video cassette recorder and the Walkman personal stereo in the seventies, as well as the compact disc player and 8mm camcorder in the 1980′s. In the 1990′s they came up with the mini-disc player, digital camera, and even the PlayStation game console.
So as you can tell, Sony has been the leader in many consumer products and they continue to grow with more and more innovative products, from laptop computers, memory sticks, and now even DVD/CD multi disc players. They are Sony TVs also branching out in the areas of professional broadcasting.
